At Naqura, a small dot on the map located in South Lebanon, about 50 members of the Italian Army have been located since 1979. They are integrated under the UN flag to maintain peace within this area of the world and they constitute the helicopter division Italia UNIFIL.

In 1997 one of the helicopters crashed, causing the death of five members of the crew.
